I started this site because I was sick of reading product reviews that felt... fake. You know the ones – "Top 10 Amazing Products You MUST Buy!" written by someone who clearly just copied specs from Amazon and never touched the actual product.
I've spent years setting up man caves, hosting backyard barbies, and buying gear that either lasted forever or ended up in the bin within months. Figured I might as well write about what actually works.
What This Site Is About
Look, I'm not a professional reviewer or some lifestyle influencer. I'm just a bloke who likes quality gear and doesn't like wasting money on rubbish.
This site covers three main things:
Man Caves – Air purifiers that actually remove cigar smoke, leather recliners you can sink into, home bar setups that don't look cheap. The stuff that turns a spare room into somewhere you actually want to spend time.
Outdoor Entertaining – Fire pits, patio heaters, BBQ smokers. Everything you need to keep the party going when it gets cold, without freezing your mates off.
Gentleman's Accessories – Zippo lighters, hip flasks, humidors. Not the mass-produced junk, but the kind of gear you can hand down or at least not feel embarrassed pulling out.
How I Review Products
I buy most of the stuff I review with my own money. Sometimes brands send me products to test, but I'll always tell you when that happens. And if it's crap, I'll say so – doesn't matter who paid for it.
When I recommend something, it's because I use it or would genuinely buy it myself. I'm not going to tell you some $500 gadget is essential when a $50 one does the job just fine.
The Affiliate Bit
Right, let's get this out of the way: I earn commissions when you buy things through my Amazon links. That's how this site pays for itself.
But here's the thing – if we were mates and you asked me what air purifier to get, I'd tell you the same products whether I made money from it or not. The commission just means I can keep testing new gear and writing about it.
If a product is overpriced or doesn't work, I'll tell you. No amount of commission changes that.
